about us

WHO WE ARE

The USGBC Central California Chapter is an organization working to unify and empower an engaged and educated community in the seven counties it represents in order to cultivate a healthy and flourishing environment for a more sustainable Valley.

WHAT WE DO
USGBC CC, the local chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, was formed in 2005 based on the desire to network and learn from one another the concept of sustainability and how it impacts the building industry.

In 2008, U.S. Green Building Council awarded the Central California region full chapter status allowing us to promote a mission to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.

For a detailed account of the formation of the USGBC-CC, please read Forming of the USGBC-CC written for your information and enjoyment by one of our founding members, Bruce Poulsen. Click Here to Join our Mailing List.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that individuals coming together as a group, with a common purpose, can make a difference. We believe that the future of the valley, state, nation, and world will be better for our efforts. We believe that we can affect change, and that we do succeed because of the commitment of our members.

We invite you to learn more about the green building movement, explore our site, attend our events, and be a part of the change! Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you!
