This GPRO Fundamentals of Building Green Training + Exam will be hosted in person in Bakersfield.

The construction industry is moving quickly towards greener, high-performance buildings, creating increased demand for sustainable building skills across the country.

This course teaches the foundational concepts of sustainability - and provides an overview of the essential strategies and work practices that make buildings more efficient, healthy, and resilient. GPRO covers the “green gap” between standard trade skills and the new awareness required to implement sustainable and energy-efficient building practices successfully.

This training is ideal for anyone who needs a better understanding of high-performance buildings, including sales or administrative staff in real estate, construction, architecture, or engineering, workforce development providers, facilities and operations staff, and college students interested in entering the building or construction industry.

Registration includes a course e-book and an online exam. Students who pass the exam with an 80% or higher become GPRO Fundamentals of Building Green Certificate holders.

GPRO Fundamentals qualifies for 4 AIA and GBCI CE Credits.

Meet the Presenter:

Robert Carr, LEED AP, LFA

USGBC-CA Training & Program Manager

Robert is the Training & Programs Manager at USGBC-CA and a green building professional specializing in making the built environment more sustainable. He is a LEED AP, LFA, and GPRO Instructor and has used this experience to participate in many LEED projects in the San Diego region. Robert continues to use his project experience to educate others in green building strategies, measures, and practices. Robert also volunteers for SD 350 and the San Diego Building Electrification Coalition to advocate for just, equitable and sustainable communities for all.
