Join us for a tour of the new Fresno County Rural Transit Agency (FCRTA) Operations and Maintenance Facility. This new 7.5-acre facility in the City of Selma will feature a 10,000-square-foot maintenance building, a 5,000-square-foot office, a bus wash, three solar bus ports, 32 charging units—including wireless and in-ground options—a solar field, a gas generator, and a battery backup energy management system. Once completed, this project will centralize the FCRTA fleet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing electric vehicles and solar energy, decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.
The construction of this new operations and maintenance facility will service the entire rural county to which FCRTA provides public transit services, including underserved communities and unincorporated areas. Benefits include providing a centralized operations and maintenance center; providing safe and convenient transportation and circulation for the 122-vehicle fleet; providing new technology with solar, EV charging, and battery backup on site; and improving economic development opportunities through these infrastructure enhancements.
Safety: This is a tour of an active construction site. For safety reasons we require that tour attendees wear long pants (legs covered) and sturdy, flat closed-toe shoes (no ballet flats, high heels, or canvas shoes).
